Over coming the spirit of Fornication has never Been Easy But with God Everything is possible

Human sexuality can be one of the most beautiful aspects of God's plan for His children here on earth. But since Adam and Eve's fall from grace, human sexual practices have drifted from God's purposes. In fact, if we are not careful to look to our Heavenly Father and follow His teaching in this area, we live a life which makes us slaves to sin and fails to bring glory to our Lord. YOU ARE NOT ALONE If you are struggling with sexual sin, you are not alone. Even King David -- a man after God's own heart -- wrestled with sexual sin. When he saw a beautiful woman named Bathsheba, he was overcome by his own lust. He then went to great lengths to hide his sin. But thanks to a faithful friend and a forgiving God, David found his way home ( 2 Samuel 11:12 ). And so can you.    FREEDOM IN THE TRUTH Too often, we step onto the wrong path in our sexuality because we fail to act upon God's truth. Jesus, in one passage of the Bible, examines the freedom found in tru...

Spiritual Growth

Spiritual Growth - What is it? Spiritual growth is detailed in  2 Peter 1:3-8 , "His divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness. Through these he has given us his very great and precious promises, so that through them you may participate in the divine nature and escape the corruption in the world caused by evil desires. For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; and to godliness, brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness, love. For if you possess these qualities in increasing measure, they will keep you from being ineffective and unproductive in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ." So, spiritual growth includes: (1) increasing in your knowledge and understanding of God's Word, (2) decreasing in your frequency an...

How to Become born again

Image
A man named Nicodemus came to Jesus by night. Perhaps he was afraid of criticism or he had a desire for a private conversation, or maybe he wanted to know more before committing himself to Jesus Christ. In any event, he came and asked Jesus some questions. Jesus looked at him and said, “Nicodemus, you need to be born again” (Cf. John 3:5). In fact, He said, “Verily, verily”—and any time Jesus used that expression, He meant that what was to follow was very important. He said, “Verily, verily, I say unto thee … ye must be born again” (John 3:5,7, KJV). Have you been born again? Call it conversion, call it commitment, call it repentance, call it being saved, but has it happened to you? Does Christ live in your heart? Do you know it? Many people have thought a long time about religion and Christianity and yet have never made a commitment.  Are you committed to Jesus Christ? Nicodemus must have been stunned when Jesus said, “You must be born again.” It wouldn’t seem shocking ...

How does one become a born again?

It must have been as confusing to Nick as it might be in many churches today. Nicodemus had come to Jesus for more information about Him and His ministry. He was certain Jesus was sent by God and the works of Jesus and His teaching had to be from God. However, the response of Jesus confused him, “You must be born again.” “What are you talking about,” He asked. Jesus explained further,  “Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter the Kingdom of God.” Either the look on Nick’s face or his body language asked, “Why is that?” “Because” ,  Jesus went on to say,  “That which is born of the flesh is flesh and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.” Let’s unpack what Jesus was saying to this “good man.” The physical birth of a human being can only bring forth carnal living. A person lives by the desires and appetites of their physical nature, the five senses of the human body; sight, smell, taste, touch, and hearing. A person’s though...
